XCOMBO explained: how combos work on the XPENG G9
XCOMBO is the automation feature in XPENG cars. A combo links a trigger to conditions and actions – for example “when I buckle up, start the massage”. This guide explains the building blocks and what to look out for when you add a code.

The three building blocks of a combo
Every combo consists of a trigger, optional conditions and one or more actions. The trigger is the event the combo waits for: a door opens, you buckle up, you select a gear, charging starts. Conditions limit when the combo actually does something – for example only within a certain temperature range or only at a certain place. The actions are what happens then: seat heating on, mirrors folded, an announcement played.
XPENG introduced the feature with the global XOS 5.4 update (XPENG's announcement of XOS 5.4); since then, major XOS versions have added new options, such as location conditions with XOS 5.9.5 (XPENG's XOS 5.9.5 page).
A simple example is 2675 0020: the trigger is buckling up, the action is the driver seat massage. 0193 0032 does more: when you buckle up it switches on the steering-wheel heating and climate control – but only if it's between −40 and +14 °C outside. And 2485 0004 shows how many actions a single combo can bundle: prompts, closing the windows, boot and charge port, locking and folding the mirrors to match the gear.
Combos while driving and while parked
Vehicle combos react while the car is on, for example to the gear or a door. Remote combos run while the car is off, for example to pre-heat it in the morning. The app only offers actions that fit the chosen trigger – so not every idea works with every trigger.
Typical combos for a parked car are 0002 0013, which pre-heats by time and weekday, and 5508 0048, which checks the cabin temperature every 10 minutes while parked and cools if needed.
All conditions must be true at the same time
A combo only fires if all its conditions are met at the moment it's triggered. Many home-made combos fail here: “gear D and speed 15–180 km/h” doesn't fire when you select D, because the car is still standing at that moment. 4479 0023 gets it right – it starts the massage only once the car reaches 90 km/h.
If a combo never fires, first check whether the trigger and conditions can be true at the same time at all. After that, check the profile that's logged in and the XOS version.
Combos belong to your account
A combo only runs while the XPENG account that added it is logged in to the car. Passengers and family members with their own profile don't trigger it. Anyone who wants to use a combo adds it to their own account.
Adding a code – step by step
- Check your software: XCOMBO arrived in Europe with XOS 5.4.5. Searching by code needs XOS 5.6 or later, location conditions need XOS 5.9.5.
- Open XCOMBO in the XPENG app or on the centre display and search for the code – the 8 digits without spaces.
- Open the combo and read every condition and action before you save it.
- Adjust the values to your car and your routine: temperatures, places, times and volume.
- Save and activate the combo and test it once while the car is parked in a safe place.
Read the combo even if you know its description here: a combo can be changed or removed after it was published. What counts is what the app shows.
Combos from other models
Codes can be shared between XPENG models. But combos built on a G6, P7+ or X9 may use functions or names your G9 doesn't have. The collection marks such cases – for example 7970 0050, which was built on a P7+, or 1783 0050 from a G6. With 3598 0041 it even depends on the names of the massage programmes. Test such combos with particular care.
What combos can't do
- At a car wash a combo can't shift into N or turn off Auto Hold, and there's no known action for the automatic wipers. More in the guide “Going through a car wash with XCOMBO”.
- Combos can overwrite settings you made by hand – with 3997 0009, for example, lighting settings can get lost.
- Two combos that control the same thing work against each other. The guide “Combining combos: how to avoid conflicts” explains how to prevent that.
Safety
Try every new combo while the car is parked in a safe place, not while driving. Some combos turn off warnings that the car must switch on at every start under EU rules (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144) – that's your decision and your responsibility alone. Outside the EU, other rules apply; what counts is the law of the country you're driving in. Don't rely on locking combos when children or animals are in the car, and remember that camera recordings may be legally restricted depending on where you are (EDPB Guidelines 3/2019).
