Combos for autumn and winter: get in warm, see clearly

When it gets cold outside, combos take a lot of routine off your hands: they pre-heat on a schedule, switch on seat and steering-wheel heating to match the outside temperature and keep the windows clear. Here are the right combos from the collection – and what to keep in mind.

Pre-heating before you leave

0002 0013 pre-heats by time and weekday: if the cabin is colder than 12 °C, it runs the heating at maximum plus the mirror and rear-window heating. You set the times and days yourself in the app – for example to match your commute. If you prefer it gentler, start 4210 0000 by hand; it warms the car more gently than maximum heating.

Heating while parked uses energy from the battery. Keep the pre-heating time as short as works for you.

Automatic seat and steering-wheel heating

Instead of switching on the heating by hand every morning, a combo can do it based on the outside temperature. The collection offers several approaches – from a simple threshold to a complete automation:

All of these combos are in the conflict group “Heating & climate by outside temperature” – they control the same functions and overwrite each other. Pick the one that suits your routine.

Separately, there's seat heating on entry for the driver (1809 0021) and passenger (9600 0018) at −45 to +15 °C. These two work together, but shouldn't be combined with a climate automation that also controls seat heating.

Clear windows

Misted or icy windows are the biggest nuisance in winter. 4237 0000 demists and de-ices the windscreen, rear window and mirrors at the push of a button – without the side effects of the app buttons. As its counterpart, 7157 0002 stops defogging automatically as soon as you get in; 8373 0027 does the same, so you only need one of the two.

Dark and wet days

Autumn is often dark and wet. 3383 0007 switches on the low beam during the day when it's raining and the wipers are on Auto; 9797 0017 does so as soon as the wipers are on Auto, Lo or Hi. Both are in the same group – use only one. For getting in in the dark, 3764 0059 switches on the reading lights until you select a gear.
